Women Who Run So Hard They Forgot Why They Were Running

A PERSONAL DISCOVERY RETREAT FOR WOMEN BY WOMEN IN THE THRESHOLD

July 1 -5, 2026 | 5 days - 4 nights | Playa Azul, Costa Rica

ABOUT THIS RETREAT

Women Who Run So Hard They Forgot Why They Were Running is an invitation to pause, really pause, alongside other women who want to get unstuck and feel more alive.

This is not a conference or a training. It's a chance to step away from the momentum and reconnect with yourself.

Set on a beachfront in Costa Rica, the retreat weaves together mindfulness practices like meditation and conscious movement, journaling, creative exercises, play, music, and time in silence. The schedule offers both sessions led by the facilitators and open space to enjoy spa treatments, walks on the beach, or quiet time with your journal.

You'll be guided gently inward; not to fix yourself, but to remember yourself.

The retreat is led by Karina Zilberman, facilitator and co-creator of Breathtaking Retreats, alongside her sister Debora Zilberman, a psychologist, author, and visual artist with over 35 years of experience.

Whether you're exhausted, curious, or simply ready for feeling aligned with purpose and meaning, you are welcome here. No experience needed. Just the willingness to pause alongside other women who are also figuring things out as they go.

At the heart of this gathering are gentle strokes of Jewish wisdom and ritual; offered not as doctrine, but as a way to deepen reflection and connection. They are open to all, regardless of faith or background.

Come as you are. Leave with a clearer sense of who you are now; how you want to show up in the world, and with tools to move forward.

ABOUT KARINA ZILBERMAN

Karina Zilberman is a facilitator, singer-songwriter, and educator whose work sits at the intersection of creativity, community, and personal discovery. Raised in a world of music, puppetry, and performance, she has spent decades guiding individuals and groups toward deeper authenticity; through play, nonverbal practices, song, and collective imagination.

As the Director of Breathtaking Mindfulness Retreats, she designs and leads immersive experiences that invite pause, connection, and self-discovery. She currently co-leads retreats in Costa Rica, where she lives with her husband, Rabbi Marcelo Bronstein. Her latest offering, Women Who Run So Hard They Forgot Why They Were Running, is a new retreat under the Breathtaking umbrella, co-created with her sister Debora Zilberman.

Karina's approach is intuitive, relational, and fiercely human. She has designed and led retreats, workshops, and summits for academic institutions, nonprofits, and faith-based audiences worldwide, and was a recipient of the 2012 Covenant Foundation Award for excellence in Jewish education. Together with her sister Debora, she creates playful tools and experiences that invite women to pause, play, and re-story their lives.

ABOUT DEBORA ZILBERMAN

Debora Zilberman is a Buenos Aires–based artist, psychologist, and author whose work is rooted in culture and community. She began painting in childhood, and over decades has grown from an artist who once hesitated to show her work to one now featured in three countries. Raised by an architect father in a process-driven home, Debora was encouraged never to erase her "mistakes" but rather to build on them—a philosophy that continues to shape her creative process. Working primarily in pencils, pastels, and acrylics, she often intertwines collage with short narratives, blending image and story into a single expressive language. She brings the same curiosity and tenderness to her art that she has brought to over 35 years of clinical practice as a psychologist. Debora will soon release her first book, Cuarenta Relatos Cotidianos, a collection of everyday stories and elements.
